What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive and relaxing complementary therapy that aims to optimise both physical and emotional health. It works by massaging and stimulating specific points (usually on the feet but sometimes on the hands) called reflex points. These points correspond to different parts of the body.
Reflexology can bring about a state of deep relaxation, as well as stimulating the body's own natural healing process, which can help people to return to a state of balance and well-being.
How will reflexology help me?
Reflexology has been known to improve your health holistically, by re-balancing the Mind & Body through improving blood circulation, stimulating nerve conduction, relieving tension and eliminating toxins via the Lymphatic System.
Reflexology aims to promote and encourage total body relaxation, restful sleep, and generally gives a wonderful sense of well-being. It can help to bring balance and harmony to all body systems. It can calm or stimulate according to the needs of the body.
What happens at a reflexology session?
I can travel to you, so you can enjoy the therapy in the comfort of your own home. Or if you would prefer you can travel to me and enjoy a session in my tranquil treatment room.
Your first session will include a consultation and details about your health history will be noted (approximately 15 minutes). This information will be used to develop your personal reflexology treatment plan. (Confidentiality is assured).
You will only need to remove your shoes and socks. As you relax in a reclining chair, cream is applied to your feet using soothing stroking actions. You will experience a feeling of relaxation as rhythmic pressure is applied to each foot.
The duration of a full treatment is 60 minutes.
Clients who believe they have very sensitive or ticklish feet are often surprised that having their feet worked on does not tickle.
